The School year

The academic year at CHIREC begins in the third week of June and ends in the first week of April, divided into three terms.

Term I is between June and September. Initial two weeks make the kids move out of the two-month holiday mood and embark on studies earnestly. The pace begins on a slow mode in the beginning and gradually picks up. During August kids pass through various literary competitions and other extra-curricular activities leading to competitions for the Independence Day celebrations.

Term II makes a tight schedule for children with a Parents Day and a Sports Day. The two mega events provide a forum to showcase the children’s aptitude in sports and cultural activities. The term is short and the syllabus covered during the term is also relatively brief.

Term III focuses on academic affairs once again, at the same time emphaising on working for Expression, the school magazine. Children are encouraged to conceive, contribute and bring out the magazine.

All through the year, children are encouraged to participate in various inter school/district/state level competitions in sports and cultural events.
