The
Science behind Mosquito Magnet ?
Mosquito Magnet has been developed by American Biophysics, a
scientific corporation that has been testing receptors on blood-seeking insects for almost
a decade. Their entomologists studied how blood-seeking female insects navigate to people
or other mammals using these receptors. One of these receptors contains neurons that
detect the presence of carbon dioxide exhaled by humans. Once it was understood how these
insects use carbon dioxide and other compounds to navigate to a host, the scientists then
studied insect behavior during navigation. The Mosquito MagnetTM was designed
to take advantage of this knowledge to eliminate Mosquitoes from our neighbour-hoods

How
does the trap work ?
The Mosquito Magnet mimicks human breath in the form of a warm,
moist carbondioxide plume produced by using LP Gas to attract the blood sucking insects.
As the insects approach the source, they are vacuumed into a net and dehydrated. The unit
works without any electricity and hence it can be located at the breeding areas itself to
trap and eliminate the mosquitoes
