Spare the rod, say all those concerned with elementary education. More harmful than the rod are the invisible fear of the exams and mad rush to compete. Sparing children the exam phobia and cut-throat competition at a tender age is the guiding principle of our evaluation.

Inculcating regular study in children as a way of life is our goal at CHIREC. We hold regular class tests that account for 75 per cent marks at the end of the term evaluation. Three best results out of five class tests make this 75 per cent. There are no term evaluations upto class II. Formal system of evaluation begins in class III and continues upto class VIII. The children are accorded grades only upto class V. Neither marks nor ranks are mentioned.
