Concept of an Energy Store:

The Energy Stores will be used to market Energy Efficient products that have not been available hitheto in India due to Licensing Regulation and Administered Prices for Electricity and other Petroleum Products, Energy has been used in many illogical ways in our country, for instance inspite of severe shortage of electricity, electricity is used indiscriminately for water heating, room heating, air-conditioning and in some cases even for cooking. Direct heating is the most logical choice for heavy duty heating appliances and LPG has been proven to be the cleanest, most convenient and economical choice when compared to firewood, coal, kerosene, and even electricity (see myths about electricity)

The energy stores would serve as avenue for display and demonstration of various energy efficient gas appliances offered by the company. See friendly energy solutions. Since these products and applications are new concepts, the energy store serves as an ideal demonstration platform. The energy stores also offer various solar energy products. These are world class Solar Products for Solar Lighting, Backup Power etc. These products are not available through any manufacturer based in India. There are several Interesting gadgets that have been packaged in a way that they can be sold as Over The Counter Items from the energy stores rather than the individual project approach taken by most manufacturers in India

In the Energy Stores, Energy Conservation tips are displayed and free literature is given out courtesy Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA). Energy Stores display brochures on the various financing programs of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency

Profile :

• Could be SSAEL / any LPG distributor or dealer or any other party that meets the requirement

• Should have a premises of atleast 400 sft in a commercial area (own or leased)

• Should have basic infrastructure and manpower to man the Energy Store

• Should be willing to invest in Stocks

Terms of Appointment :

• Will do business in the name and style of Shakti Energy Store

• Will be part of a project funded by International Finance Corporation (IFC), Washington, the investment arm of The World Bank and supported by Global Environment Facility

• Will carry a common signage and have a showroom and service centre in prominent commercial area

• Will pay an upfront non refundable franchisee licensing fee of Rs. 25,000/- including startup fee, Glowsign initial set of stationery, our inputs to set up Store and Renewal fee for the first three year. Thereafter, the yearly renewal fees will be Rs.3,000/-

• Will deal in products and services approved by the Company

• For the items in the products range of the company, SSAEL will offer the best products at attractive prices. All other products in the store will have to approved by SSAEL and can be sourced from suppliers approved by SSAEL

Inputs from SSAEL :

• Glowsign Boards, initial set of stationery are provided free of cost. Display items, Computer System with software for the store and a printer are supplied by SSAEL and are paid for through part of the loan amount

• A soft loan of Rs. 3 to 5 lakhs towards investment in the above and other items like furniture and fixtures etc., besides Working capital for stocks

• License for usage of SSAEL brands and logos on letter heads, visiting cards etc.

• All the services that are provided to distributors and dealers

• Sales promotion and advertising support

• Service manuals, documentation details and other sales management systems

• Technical training and support to the technicians and training to sales executives

• Spares and warranty service support

Appointment Procedure :

• Applicants will be required to make a formal application giving their details as in a Distributor /Dealership application form.The same form can be used

• The Area / Department Manager would assess the credibility / reputation of the party, visit the showroom premises (proposed for the SES), discuss the proposal threadbare, put in his recommendations and sends the proposal to Head Office

• SSAEL's Head Office would interview the applicant, decide the collateral securities and investment pattern and approve the application. Then Head Office will send two original documents of the agreement to be signed by the applicant (now a Franchisee) and returned to the Head Office

• SSAEL will affix the signature and dispatch one of the original agreements to the Franchisee

• SSAEL's Franchisee will start making arrangements for establishing the SES
